Internal Memo by Sienna Rathers: New Glabe Gazette Politics Department
I am proud to report the success of the politics department over the last few years. The changes to political structure since parliament was prorogued have kept this department very busy, and our reporters have risen to the challenge. On top of breaking a number of excellent stories about the corruption being uncovered and the structural changes being made, the department has also managed to increase its political photojournalism. It has also redeveloped the opinion column since the firing of Elis Sinclair, maintaining its popularity while increasing its legitimacy through accepting questions from the general public and taking it in turns to answer them. I highly commend the work of all of the journalists in my department.
I intend to step down as Head of the Politics Department soon – it will be good for me to take more time for myself, and to reduce my general stress levels, something impossible to do when there is always another fire to put out. However, I am confident I leave the paper and the department to which I devoted my career in good hands.
