====== Bronwyn Davenport ====== ====Into Fiction==== //Looking Back: New Glabe Literary Prize Winner Bronwyn Davenport reflects on her time at the// Gazette //two decades ago// ---- Though she doesn’t work full-time for us anymore, Bronwyn Davenport has been an integral part of the //Gazette// community for over two decades. Bronwyn is now the editor of the Seldona Literary Review, which has quickly become one of the nation’s top journals for poetry and short fiction. Even now, she submits a story to Puzzles & Fiction Editor Joseph Coates each year for publication in the //Gazette.// Today, it’s hard to believe that she started out as an intern in the Economics Department. But Bronwyn credits the //Gazette//’s staff for becoming a new family when she fell out with her old one. Bronwyn admits that things weren’t always easy. When she moved in with Features Editor Aya Schmidt after leaving her family home, roommate conflict abounded. Through all the passive-aggressive refusal to do the washing up, however, the two have become the best of friends. In the weeks after she lost it all, the people of the //Gazette// cared for her, making sure she ate from the well-stocked office fridge and took home the leftovers to save money. Bronwyn is quick to credit Candice’s enthusiasm, Nettie’s serenity, and Sora’s encouragement for helping make her the writer she is today. And what a writer Bronwyn has become. After her third novel, published last year, she recently won New Glabe’s most prestigious literary prize; we’re more than excited to see what she’ll bring to the world from here.
