===== Character Creation =====

Character Creation in //Scoop!// consists of the following components, each of which is detailed below:

  * **OC information:** Inform the GMs (and eventually your fellow players) about your out-of-character name and pronouns. In addition, you will be asked to supply an email address, a Discord username (although this is not required), and if you are under 18 you will need to alert the GMs for safeguarding reasons.
  * **IC name(s) and pronouns:** Select a name for your character. Please also tell us your character's pronouns.
  * **Short questions:** Answer some brief questions about your character. (More detail further below.)
  * **Public Bio:** A short biography that will be published on the [[Player Characters]] page on this wiki, visible to all players and others reading the wiki. There is a **150 word limit** on public bios.
  * **Private Bio:** A short biography of your character visible only to you and the GMs.
  * **Quirks:** You may choose up to 3 Quirks with a maximum total value of +1. You may choose any number of playstyle Quirks. See the [[Quirks|Quirks]] page for information about the Quirks you can take.
  * **Safety questions:** Let us know if there's anything we can do to make your game experience more comfortable. This information will not be shared beyond the GM team, as per our [[Privacy Policy|Privacy Policy]].
    * If there are any themes permitted by our [[CAT policy]] or other themes/phobias not mentioned there that you would like to tell us about, please let us know and we will do our best to ensure you avoid encountering them. 
    * Are there any other players you wish to avoid during the game, and are you alright with us telling them this? If you do not give us permission to tell them, we will do our best to keep you apart, but there is a limited amount we can do anonymously.
    * Do you have any health or accessibility requirements that you would like to tell us about?
  * **Closing remarks:** At the end of the form, there is a space for you to share any final thoughts about the game with the GMs.

**What is your character's date of birth?** Please note that //Scoop!// is set in the year 2025, and all characters must be over the age of 18.

**What department does your character work for?** The options are:
  * Politics
  * Economics
  * Features
  * Innovations
  * Celebrity and Style
  * Environment
  * Puzzles and Fiction
If you have no preference between departments, the GMs will choose one for you and let you know soon after the character creation deadline.

**How long has your character been working at the New Glabe Gazette?**

**What is your character's secret?** In //Scoop!//, every player character has a secret. It might be trivial or have huge ramifications, but it's something your character wants to keep hidden.
==== Submitting Your Character ====

Firstly, please fill in our joint ballot [[https://forms.gle/hAbEVTaxPqtDnh8WA|form]]. This form is due at **12 noon** on **Thursday 24th April**.

Then, submit your character via this [[https://forms.gle/kcTS5Wd7dD8fatGp9|form]]. The deadline for character submissions is **12 noon** on **Friday 25th April**.
